Matariki

Kia ora bloggers! Kei te pehea koe?
On Thursday the 23rd of July, Waikowhai Primary celebrated Matariki. The senior synicate did a rotation with 3 stations. The 3 stations were: making kites, baking fried bread and making maori myth animations. The students stayed in their classes.

The Second activity my class did was the manu tukutuku with Mrs Law. Everyone drew patterns on white, black, red and orange strips of paper. After that, we coloured them in with dye, crayons or pastel. We got 4 bamboo sticks and formed a triangle with a stick in the middle. We glued them together with hot glue. The we stuck the strips of paper on and put some red and black feathers at the end of the sticks. It is now hung up on the ceiling.

The last activity we did was baking fried bread with Mrs Jones. We got into groups of 5 - 7 people. We first put some self-rising flour into a bowl and then added water. We mixed it and then started kneading it. We cut it up into a few pieces and then put it onto the electric frying pan. Once it cooled down, we added some spreads on it It was delicious

The first activity we did was the maori myth animations with Ms Daly. My partner was Mariama. We decided to do an animation on the maori myth The seven sisters. It's a story about 7 brothers marrying  the 7 Patupaiarehe. The husbands worked so hard because their wives were very picky and selfish. They captured their wives a few days later and then sent them t oUru, the god of the stars. Uru sent them far, far away into the farthest of heavens. Unfortunately, Mariama and I couldn't complete it.

Thanks for reading my blogpost, I hope you enjoyed. In your free time, please leave a comment.

Ako Hiko Toolkits

Hi bloggers, yesterday we did Toolkits and we went with the people who were presenting and also who were watching. Toolkits is where students can present and show other students a digital tools we can use online. For the first session I did a digital portrait which was really cool there is the photo. And for the second session I did incredible box. Incredible box is where you can create your own peace of music you should go and try it. For the third session I did word art, where you can make words and make it into a shape. We then had to put it in our student Toolkit slides. A student Toolkit slides is where we put our sessions and stuff we did inside it. But during lunch time we had to have stops to eat and stretch. So after that we had to go into another meetings with the other school's we had to talk to the schools on what we liked from doing other peoples stuff they showed us
