๐ŸŒŠWater safety-Cameron Pools๐ŸŠ

 This term we have been doing swimming at Cameron Pools. For those of you who don't know, Cameron Pools is an indoor swimming center in Mt Roskill. It is operated by YMCA. 

On Tuesdays and Thursdays our schedule is a little different. We have lunch at 2:00 and then we have play after we eat, After we play the bell has to ring then we have to lineup and catch the bus at 2:45. After we arrived I was with Jasmine and we were in a group. 

So first we had to put on our life jackets then we had to have our arms out and take a step and jump in the pool which was cool. After that we had to float on to our backs and form a huddle. We did this because we learned that this would keep  us warm and also make us visible to boat coming because they will know we are not a small group. 

Next we had to get back up the ladder and fall backwards 2x into the pool. After that Jasmine told us to take a dive into the pool and we had to point our arms and hug our ears tight and jump down.  We had to be careful to not hit the ground. Sadly my googles broke because the water was too strong.

                           This taught me how to float when I am stuck.

Spark Arena Trip ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš!!

Hello bloggers around the world๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ˆ , Today the 17 of May Waikowhai's Year 6 students went to Spark Arena. Brendan Hines is the "CEO" of Spark Arena was the one who had organised this trip for us and 2 other school, it was free!!!. There was 3 activities that we did there. There was Happy Place, Sounds Fun and Van Gogh exhibit. We went to Happy place first.

The first activity we did was Happy place it was very very fun. First thing that we did in the Happy Place was the ball pit. 4 people jumped in together and then the teachers took some pictures of us jumping in to the ball pit. I was surprised how deep it was it was like the height of my friend Daniel. The second thing that we did in the happy place was the slide. After that we took some pictures in rooms and then we got to my favourite part of the happy place. It was like a dome and there was something like a a lot of fans under the floor and then when we went in and there was confetti was flying every where.


 

The next activity that we did was Sounds fun. It was where we got to play with the launch pads. When we got to go to do the launch pad we had to look at the computer because there was a yellow line that would go past a block and when the yellow goes on the block you had to press that block. There was also trumpets that we got to play for fun. There even a electric drum that he got to have a turn on. 


The finally activity that we did before having and lunch and going back to school the Van Gogh exhibit it dark room were to shows his arts. It also had words on the walls about his life.

Fitness plan๐ŸŒต

Last week we did Fitness plan it was very tiring and I will tell you all about it. The first week we created the fitness plan on a paper then after a few weeks later we made a digital fitness plan which we are using right now for our fitness, and for my fitness plan I did 3 laps on the field and I was very tired out but that was not all I also did 60 skip rope jumping and that was very long and you must be thinking how I did it. I am doing this not by row its by every single time I stop and then continue, then next thing I did was 10 push ups which you had to go down onto your tummy and push back up which takes you along time. The next task I did was 20 star jumps and it looks very easy but noo!! It takes forever for me to do because I was very warn out.

If you don't know how to do star jumps I will explain, and what you do is you have to put your feet apart and then put your arms to the side and then after that you make your feet go in and your arm go out and it should look like a star jump. The next exercise I did was leg raises and what you have to do for that is you have to go onto you back on a flat floor and then you put your leg up and down and it should look like your levitating your legs but on your back.

The next task you all should know that is a bad exercise is the burpees and for that I did 30 because I really want to get fit so that I can run more faster and hold a 5 min plank and If you don't know what a burpees is it is like doing push ups but you go up to the air and reach the sky then go back to your push up pose and that was all for my fitness plan thank you for reading this blog ya later !
